Penkridge
PENKRIDGE: Military aerodrome (also known as PILLATON)
Military user: RAF Flying Training Command 51 Group
This airfield appears to have acted as a satellite, but for where?
10 SFTS (Avro Ansons)
11 EFTS (Some say they used this airfield, but I have yet to find proof - any ideas?)
28 EFTS (DH Tiger Moths)
Location: S of B5012, E of Penkridge, W of Pillaton, 6nm S of Stafford
Period of operation: 1942 to 1945
Runways: Possibly an 'All-over' grass airfield (no dimensions known?) One source gives only E/W 868 grass
