PENTLE BEACH: Temporary landing site
 

NOTES: In October 1930 the Bellanca WB-2 Maple Leaf  NR237 force landed here having crossed the Atlantic enroute from Newfoundland to CROYDON due to fuel supply problems to the engine. Fuel from the reserve tank failed to feed through.
