Perrow Farm

PERROW FARM: Private airstrip

Location: In/near Crickham. A village just W of the B3151 and about 3nm SSW of Cheddar

Landing area: My guess is the field just west of Perrow Lane? This has a maximum landing run of around 360 metres in a roughly E/W direction

NOTES: Initial info source AAIB report EW/G2008/08/17

This report does tell quite a lot about flying and the often unexpected risks involved especially when approaching to land at short airstrips. The professional pilot had a lot of flying experience and, flying a Maule M5-235C Lunar Rocket, had a superb STOL aircraft. It was supposed that a gust of tailwind led to the serious accident…?
