Pett

Note: This map only shows the position of Pett village within the UK. It generally appears that the location of the Landing Ground is now not known, but I doubt this is correct? If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be most welcome.

PETT: Military Landing Ground      (also known as HASTINGS)

Military users: RFC/RAF  (Royal Flying Corps / Royal Air Force)

50 [Home Defence] Sqdn   (Royal Aircraft Factory B.E.2 & B.E.12 types, Armstrong Whitworth F.K.8 and later Sopwith Camels)

Location: In/near Pett village, roughly 5nm NE of Hastings town centre

Period of operation: 1916 to 1918     (Some say 1917)

NOTES: Apparently used only as a NLG (Night Landing Ground) by 50 Sqdn.
