Military user: Royal Air Force
 

Location: On Westray, in the Bay of Pierowall, just E of Pierowall on the B9067

Period of operation: 1918

 

NOTES: Used as an advanced base for RAF HOUTON BAY in late 1918. Clearly a number of various seaplane types used this facility. Certainly it seems Sopwith Babys and two Felixstowe F.3 flying boats.
