PORTH MELLON: Military Flying boat moorings
 

Military users: RNAS/RAF      (Short 184s, Curtiss H.12s)
 

Location: On St Mary’s Island just NE of Hugh Town

Period of operation: 1917 to 1919?

 

NOTES: Moorings used by flying boats based at TRESCO. It appears that this site was only used during January and February 1917 when the detachment moved in late February 1917 to RNAS TRESCO.
