Location:  Between Ryde and Seaview

NOTES:  According to Arthur W.J.G. Ord-Hume, in his magnificent book British Commercial Aircraft, the first visit for pleasure flying on the Isle-of-Wight was on the 26th May 1921. Quite a crowd turned up to see the two aircraft, G-EAWT and G-EAWV, Airco DH.6's, which were operated by the Martin Aviation Company. There is a photograph in the book.

Ord-Hume tells us that this beach site was also used in the 1950s and 60s, including trials by an Auster fitted with water-skis!
