Military user: RNAS  (Royal Naval Air Service)

For Home Defence Flight aircraft based at HENDON

Location: Just N of the A501 and London’s West End district

Period of operation: 1914 only

NOTES: Presumably in the N side of Regents Park, the S side is far too cluttered with the boating lake and Queen Mary’s Gardens etc. Along with BATTERSEA PARK and HYDE PARK, also designated ELGs I wonder if any of these sites was actually used? (See Home Page picture to prove HYDE PARK was). To be very honest if I was flying in those days I’d be hugely tempted to fudge a problem just to have one of these sites, HYDE PARK & REGENTS PARK especially, in the log book.
