A MICHAEL T HOLDER GALLERY
We have Mike Holder, a great friend of this 'Guide', to thank for both discovering this only once used venue (?), and providing the following items.
The advert was published in the Shrewsbury Chronicle on the 5th May 1914.
The Short article One was published in the Birmingham Daily Gazette on the 15th May 1914. The Short article Two was published in the Birmingham Daily Post, also on the 15th May.
The Short article Three was published in the Shrewsbury Chronicle, also on the 15th May.
The local area and area views are from my Google Earth © derived database,
NOTES: I find this listing very interesting. Far from being an expert in this era, this period has been, (by 2025), quite extensively featured in this 'Guide', and, neither of the aviators involved at this venue ring any bells. But, by this time, it had been realised that any able aviator, (let alone two as in this case), could attract a large crowd of spectators to view an 'exhibition of flying', as air displays were called in those days.
We'd love to hear from you, so please scroll down to leave a comment!
