Royston flying sites
Note: This map only gives the position of Royston town within the UK.
ROYSTON see also MORDEN GRANGE FARM
ROYSTON see also NUTHAMPSTEAD
ROYSTON: Military and civil temporary airfields. Two locations to be identified.
NOTES: It appears that a site just south of the A505 about a mile or so west of Royston was used in WW1 as a secondary airfield of some description.
And later, possibly, in the 1930s by one of Alan Cobhams Tours….but only once?
I do have MORDEN GRANGE FARM listed as a Cobham venue near ROYSTON, but there does appear some evidence that they also used THRIFT FARM?
If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be much appreciated.
