The photo of the RAF Hercules landing in January 2019, was taken by Rachel Hoult and featured on a BBC News website. It was on a training exercise out of BRIZE NORTON.

Location:  About 2.5nm W of Braunton town centre, and about 7.5nm WNW of Barnstaple town centre

NOTES: On the Sunday 3rd June 2018 a Fly-In by several Piper L-4 Cubs, plus a rare Aeronca Defender had been organised. This was to celebrate the U.S. Forces using Saunton Sands as a training area prior to the D-Day landings. They had gathered at DUNKESWELL the previous day for the Devon Strut Annual Fly-In.
