The first two pictures were obtained from Google Earth ©. The local area and area views are from my Google Earth © derived database. Please note that a great many flying sites listed in this 'Guide' are not pinned in the database.

Operated by: 2000: Saunton Sands Hotel

Location: In/near Braunton, 3nm NW of CHIVENOR airfield

Landing area: 1998 & 2000, white ‘H’ in grass pad   23x21m   N of main car park

Period of operation:  It is not known when this facility was first provided, but it had disappeared around 2023.

NOTES:  It is certainly not my intention to try and list all the facilities of this kind, hotels, pubs and restaurants, in the U.K. There are far too many. I expect that many have very few helicopter visits spread over many years (?), but, having a helipad must be a status symbol. This said, I do know that the few I have visited, (by car of course), that are popular wedding reception and/or conference venues, do have a lot of helicopter traffic.
