Operated by:  Sprayfields (Scothern) Ltd

Location: Just NW of Scothern village, about 5nm NNE to NE of Lincoln city centre

Period of operation:  Unknown?  Possibly from 1979 to 1983

Runway:  Roughly N/S    Perhaps up to 700m?

Note:  If this seems unfeasibly long, it was not uncommon, here and in other countries, that in order to save time, the aircraft would land short, get loaded, and be off again.

NOTES:  We have Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide', to thank for pointing out this location. He tells us that the Piper PA-25-235 Pawnee, G-BGPP, was based here, (amongst others).  This was registered to Sprayfields (Scothern) from 08.10.79 until 01.12.83.

I imagine that the appearance of large self-propelled crop spaying machines, with arms extending as wide as 55m, pretty much put paid to the use of aircraft.
