SEAGREY MANOR: Temporary landing site

NOTES: In his excellent biography of Amy Johnson, Amy Johnson - Enigma in the Sky,  David Luff explains how, after his daring and record breaking flight to the Cape in South Africa in 1932, Jim Mollison was heavily invloved with Diana Wellesley and it was rumoured they intended to marry. However, before this could happen he had to 'undergo inspection' by her stepmother, Lady Cowley - and she was not impressed - not at all.

For the purposes of this 'Guide', just six days after returning by sea from the Cape, and with his aircraft restored, (these things happened quickly in 1932), Jim Mollison flew down and landed in field adjacent to the Manor.
