Shell Island campsite

SHELL ISLAND CAMPSITE: Temporary landing site

NOTES: This information came from the AAIB report EW/C2011/06/05 which gave the location as, “Llanbedr, Gwynedd, North Wales.”

My intention in listing this site is to illustrate that this Guide seeks to give examples of flying sites in the broadest possible terms. Having landed his Rotorsport UK MTOSport, G-LZED successfully at this site, the take-off the next day went wrong, very wrong, resulting in a crash.

There have been times in the twenty or so years I have been doing research for this 'Guide', when it seems entirely possible that one way or another, every second field in the UK has a flying connection!
