Note: This map shows the location of Shifnal microlight airfield..

SHIFNAL see also COSFORD

SHIFNAL: Temporary aerodrome

Operated by: Berkshire Aviation Co

Location: 4nm ESE of Telford?

Period of operation: October 1921

NOTES: If anybody can kindly offer advice regarding the location of this venue, this will be most welcome.

SHIFNAL: Private airstrip?

NOTES: Base for J3 Cub G-AJES in 2004? It appears possible that this aeroplane was based at a seperate strip to the microlight airfield listed below.

SHIFNAL: Microlight airfield

Map of the airfield circa 2016

Note: Airfield map scanned from the AAIB report EW/C2016/05/01

Operated by:   2011.  Wrekin Microlight Flying Club

Location:     Roughly 2nm ESE of Telford town centre

Runways: 18/36   366x30   grass             10/28   447   grass

NOTES: I think the initial info sources for the existence of this airfield was the AAIB report EW/G2007/04/01, and Light Aviation magazine 2011, in which is was announced a Fly-In would take place on the 25-26th June.
