Once again we have Mike Holder, a long term friend of this 'Guide', to thank for providing the following:
The excerpt is from The Aeroplane magazine, published on the 3rd December 1919. The local area and area views are both from my Google Earth© derived database.
NOTES: I think that the excerpt above is of interest as it shows that just after WW1, even public display flying sites used by just one aircraft for one day, had to be licensed. For this venue all we can find is a display date for the 30th September 1919, whereas all the other venues operated for several days, and usually with one aircraft being flown by Alan Cobham. Later of course to become globally famous and knighted for his epic pioneering flights to South Africa and across the Middle East and beyond, surveying Empire routes for Imperial Airways.
