Southgrove

Note:  This map only gives a rough position within the UK.

SOUTHGROVE:   No.47 Satellite Landing Ground

Military user:   Intended for use by 5MU

Location: Roughly 6nm NNE of RAF NETHERAVON and 5.5nm SSE of RAF OVERTON HEATH

Period of operation: 1941?

NOTES:  Another rare example, it seems, of 'all dressed up' but no party to go to. 5MU were based at RAF KEMBLE and used other sub-sites as SLGs such as BEECHWOOD PARK and RAF BERROW. Presumably the site had been surveyed and approved as it appears in several records.
