Southview Farm

Note: This map shows the position of SOUTHVIEW FARM only. So, presumably the airstrip was close by?

SOUTHVIEW FARM: Private airstrip

Location: S of the B4453, about 1.5nm W of Princethorpe which is on the junction of the A423, B4453 and B4455, roughly 7nm SE of Coventry city centre.

Period of operation: 1950s and 1960s only?

NOTES: The only record of this airstrip I have is in regard of the DH82A Tiger Moth G-APJR crashing on take-off on the 28th May 1961.

It was registered to Coventry (Civil) Aviation Ltd, so probably based at BAGINGTON (later COVENTRY AIRPORT) from the 11th November 1957. Finally notified as destroyed on the 31st July 1961.
