St DAVIDS: Military aerodrome, Royal Naval Air Station

Note: Very oddly, a look at the Wikipedia entry shows no mention of any Royal Navy activity. Could anybody kindly offer information to clear this anomoly up? In fact it now seems this airfield was only ever a RAF Coastal Command Station. Is this correct?

58 & 502 Sqdns    (Handley Page Halifaxs)

517 Sqdn   (It appears they initially flew Handley Page Hampdens, then Handley Page Halifaxs, and finally the Boeing B-17 Fortress from here)
 

Location: N of A487 & Nine Wells village, SE of A487, E of Whitchurch village, 11nm NW of HAVERFORDWEST airfield

Period of operation: 1943 to ?      Still operational in 1985 it seems, and under RAF control

 

Runways: WW2: 09/27   1829x46   hard             04/22   1280x46   hard
                         14/32   1097x46   hard
