Steeple Barton

STEEPLE BARTON: Military airfield (Aka BARTON ABBEY)

Usage: Aircraft storage & probably a small MU (No.3 SLG)

Location: In Barton Abbey grounds just S of Hopcrofts Holt on the now A4260

Runway: N/S grass

NOTES: In 2004 it seems the avenue of trees the aircraft were parked under or between still exists, as does the gap the aircraft taxied through to the runway on the other side of the road, plus a few buildings.
