Note: This map only gives a rough position within the UK. If anybody can kindly offer a more exact location, this advice will be most welcome,

STENSON ROAD: Civil aerodrome (also known as STENSON FIELDS)

Location: Stenson Road, near Derby

Period of operation: 1932 certainly

NOTES: Venue on 11th May 1932 for the Alan Cobham National Aviation Day UK Display Tour was the ‘Stenson Road Flying Ground’ Derby. Next year venue (5th June 1933) for Alan Cobham’s No.2 Tour. Presumably the same venue used on the 6th June when Cobham’s 1934 Tour visited Derby and the next year, on the 5th June 1935, when yet again Cobham’s UK tour paid another visit?

Is any more information known regarding flying from this aerodrome?
