Location: About 5nm SW of Peebles town centre on the A72
Period of operation: Not known, but certainly from the early to mid 1930s

It appears that the Squadron Leader had the de Havilland DH.80A Puss Moth registered for barely over a month, from 16.05.30 until June 1930 when it crashed in the sea off the Goodwin Sands on the 22nd June 1930. It then seems that he purchased the de Havilland DH.60G Gipsy Moth in 1931, but the paper trail then stops - for me at least. The only information subsequently found was that it was acquired by Airwork Ltd at HESTON and sold to Portugal as CS-AAI in October 1937.
Both of these aircraft would have to be hangared, and we have no idea where the landing-runs were ninety years ago. Perhaps the trees in the grounds around the main house have been planted since? If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be much appreciated.
