Stoke Heath

STOKE HEATH: Military aerodrome

NOTES: Part of the TERN HILL ‘Great War’ and WW2 airfield used by 24 MU before WW2.

However it does appear from a map in Wings Across the Border that Stoke Heath had it’s own landing ground with two grass runways, one approx 12/30 915 metres long and the other approx 02/20 and 650 metres long. In addition a roughly 550 metre long E/W grass airstrip is shown in the NNE sector of the site near the Radio Station and Cannon Testing Range.
