Stoke Golding
STOKE GOLDING: Private airstrip
Note: This picture (2018) was obtained from Google Earth ©
It has always been my contention that to qualify for being an airfield, two runways or more are required. STOKE GOLDING with its taxiways proves that this idea is flawed? What a fabulous site this is - a credit to the operators.
Operated by: 2008: Mr Tim & Mrs Helen Jinks
Location: In/near Stoke Golding apparently but according to one airfield guide S of a road that leads from Fenny Drayton to Sutton Cheney. So that makes it much closer to Dadington doesn’t it? Roughly 3nm NE of Nuneaton or 4.5nm NNE of Nuneaton
Period of operation: 1980s to -
Runway: 1990: 07/25 500 grass
2004: 08/26 525x25 grass
2014: 08/26 500x21 grass
NOTES: According to an AAIB report this airstrip is in Warwickshire, presumably because it is near Nuneaton which is in WARWICKSHIRE. Stoke Golding village at least is however most certainly in LIECESTERSHIRE, as is this airstrip in my estimation?
In early August 2008 nearly eighty aircraft participated in the ‘Stoke Golding Stakeout’ fly-in. It would be nice to have a couple of pictures of that event to add to this 'Guide'.

Regarding location... although the airfield is situated along a road between Fenny Drayton and Sutton Cheney the address is Stoke Golding as this is the nearest village of notable size, Dadlington being quite small. Postal address is CV13 (Nuneaton) and we are definitely in Leicestershire.
