STONE: Temporary aerodrome?
NOTES: On the 6th June 1933 Sir Alan Cobham’s No.2 Tour displayed in/near Stone which is a town on the A34 situated roughly halfway between Stafford and Stoke-on-Trent.

This comment was written on: 2020-05-21 17:40:03From the Staffordshire Sentinel - Friday 02 June 1933 Alan Cobham's Great Air Display will visit Stone, Norton House Farm, Stone-Eccleshall Road, on Tuesday June 6th 1933, admission 1/3 Flights from 5 shillings. 12 aircraft - 2 Air Liners - 20 Thrilling Events. There is a Norton Farm with a house in front at 52 52 31"N 002 10 38""W but I could not find any farm called Norton House Farm. The farm is over 2 miles on foot from the local railway station - Norton Bridge - a good stretch of the legs as Maureen O'Hara would say in the Quiet Man with John Wayne.
