Sulby
SULBY: Private airstrip
Note: All four of these pictures were obtained from Google Earth ©
Note: The Wilga is seen, on the runway, in front of the Air Ambulance base. Picture by the author.
Location: Immediately S of Husbands Bosworth gliding site
Runway: 04/22 410x16 grass
NOTES: The initial info came from the AAIB report EW/G2014/07/19. But, a visit to the gliding site some years ago revealed the existence of this private airstrip, but nobody seemed to know what it was named. This is why I have named it SULBY, for want a better idea.
I suspect that this strip is on the same site as that known as BOSWORTH HALL up until the late 1960s? See seperate entry. It is on the site of the WW2 HUSBANDS BOSWORTH airfield which also has a seperate entry.
If anybody can kindly offer advice on this, it will be most welcome.
