Swallowfield Acre

SWALLOWFIELD ACRE: Temporary aerodrome

Operated by: Berkshire Aviation Company

Location: Vicarage Road, Northwich

Period of operation: 6th to the 16th December 1920

NOTES: This was the last venue for the Berkshire Aviation Company for their 1920 tour. It started in January at Carlisle.

It is just my guess, but perhaps SWALLOWFIELD ACRE was part of the park on the west side of Vicarage Road?

Church Road branches off South off Witton Street which runs east out of Northwich. Church Road then runs down over the railway and ends at the Witton Vicarage in posn 53 15 24"W 002 30 02"W. On the 50's mapping the last part of the road is labelled as Vicarage Road. I would suggest the 2 large fields to west of the Vicarage were probably used by the Berkshire Aviation Company.
