SWANAGE: Temporary aerodrome?
NOTES: On the 24th August 1933 Sir Alan Cobham’s No.1 Tour displayed in/near Swanage. Did they use WORTH or another convenient field? The same question applies when, on the 14th August, Cobham’s 1934 Tour displayed again in/near Swanage. Indeed, on the 15th August 1935 Cobham’s No.1 Tour also displayed in/near Swanage. Using the same site(s)?

Note: All pictures by the author.
NOTES: On the 8th of June Captain James Roland flew thirteen flights carrying thirty nine invited passengers as our salute to the Centennary of Powered Flight global celebrations. We flew down from Scotland in the Cessna FR.172F G-DRAM from it’s base on LOCH EARN in Scotland. For a full account of this unique flight project see FLYER magazine, (November 2003).
OTHER SWANAGE VISITORS
I have discovered two accounts of aircraft simply landing in Swanage Bay and, (in 2004), another reliable eye-witness (a good friend) with her family holiday account of Short Sunderlands, (two only?), being moored in the bay. But was this in 1947 or 1952?
