Talybont
TALYBONT: Private airfield (Mainly used by microlight aircraft?)
Note: The first picture is by the author in 2012.The second rather poor picture is a scan from the January/February issue of Popular Flying magazine in 1997. The picture is attributed to Mr A Chalkley and I can only apologise for not being able to do more justice to what was, when taken, a fine picture.
The caption was: "Airmen's paradise. Bill Wynne's private airfield at Talybont during his summer barbecue fly-in. Only half of the beautifully smooth and well marked runway is shown in this view." I think it is interesting to note that, of the seventeen aircraft seen in this picture, six were flexwing microlights.
The third picture (2013) was obtained from Google Earth ©
Operated by: 2001: Mr William Williams-Wynne
Location: W of the Afon Dysynni river and A493, about 1nm NE of Tywyn
Runway: 03/21 460x16 grass
NOTE: Now in the County of GWYNEDD.
