THURSLEY: Military airstrip (Aka THURSLEY CAMP)
Military user: US First Army ‘VII’ Corps 195th Field Artillery Battalion
Location: Today the village is just W of the A3, 4.5nm NNE of Halsemere, 4.5nm SW of Godalming
Period of operation: 1944/5 only?
NOTES: It appears that two Piper L-4 Grasshoppers were based here.
To date, I have not been able to find a location for the Army Camp. If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be most welcome.
