NOTES:  We have Mr Graham Frost, a long term friend of this 'Guide', to thank for discovering this information.

It appears that Mr Ed Mort and Mr Keith Sissons set up Ocean Air in 1995, chartering the Lake La.4 Buccaneer 200, G-BMGY (ex N39RG), from R L Estates Ltd, based in Douglas on the Isle of Man. It seems that sadly the operation, with the Buccaneer being based at COMPTON ABBAS, only lasted for the 1995 summer season.

I am only guessing of course, but expect that they found, just as many of the joy-ride operators setting up after WW1 did, that although lucrative during the summer season, how do you keep the company going throughout the rest of the year? Berkshire Aviation, using a fleet of mainly Avro 504K landplanes, found that the answer was to keep going all year round, which obviously poses many operational problems in itself. And, finding suitable venues in/near towns mostly away from the popular seaside resorts.
