NOTES: On the 19th May Sir Alan Cobham’s 1934 Tour displayed in/near Berwick. As usual I’ll ask the same old question; Is the venue location now known? Perhaps also using SCREMERSTONE HILL FARM?

This comment was written on: 2020-05-24 17:57:13From The Scotsman – Friday 25 November 1927 – Berwick people had their first experience of joy flights yesterday, when a bi-plane of the Berkshire Aviation Co. gave cheap trips at Lowhaughs. Several residents enjoyed short flights, and Press representatives had the experience of looping the loop over the town. The flights will be continued over the week-end. The Lowhaughs are 2 miles to the SW of Berwick and lie between the Whiteadder Water and what is now the A699 to the north; there are 3 farms – Third Lowhaughs and First & Second Lowhaughs – just south of the road. There is a substantial field to the south of the First and Second Lowhaughs shown on the OS 6” map dated 1899.
