Charlton Grove
CHARLTON GROVE: Private airfield
Note: No doubt known by another name locally, for which any advice will be most welcome. I have called this CHARLTON GROVE after the lane which runs just east of the airfield. One possible option from a local map found later is CHARLTON CLUMP.
The first three pictures are from Google Earth© and the local area view is from my Google Earth© derived database.
Location: About 2nm W of Upavon village, roughly 6.5nm SE of Devizes town centre
Period of operation: Unknown? Certainly from 2002 to -
Runways: These seem to vary a bit over the years, both in location and length. At times hard to make out, but here is some idea:
2014: 07/25 400 grass 14/32 470 grass
2022: 08/26 415 grass 15/33 525 grass
