NOTES: Having been here and met some very friendly people, nevertheless it seems a bit of a nerve to describe this pretty basic aerodrome as an airport. In my opinion, to be regarded as an airport it has to have, (or have had), regular commercial passenger or cargo services and I think this must surely be the basic ‘entry’ level qualification. Can anybody provide proof of this happening here?
SPOTTERS NOTES
In 1977 the aircraft based here were: Cessna 320 G-ARYU, PA-23 Aztec 250s G-ATDC and G-AVSO, Cessna FR.172E G-AWDR and Cessna FR.172F G-AXBU, which, with the exception of the last aircraft which was owned by Sir P Grant-Suttie, all seemed to be operated by business concerns.
In 2006 FIFE AIRPORT celebrated it’s 25th year as being a licensed airport - so FIFE first became licensed in 1981.
